Rinn Fruu - Old Welsh for Renfrew

Renfrew in Old Welsh/Scottish Gaelic means Calm River. (There are other possible definitions.  I like this one.)  Ancestors of the Chandlers come from Renfrewshire, Scotland.  The story as told by Anita Rosalie Chandler Trousdell is that when Captain Chandler of the Royal British Navy died in combat along the Northern Irish coast one of his sons was sent in service as a squire to the Earl of Renfrew.  His mother, Mary Dan, was a lady in waiting in the court.  The young squire and Rose Stuart, the Earl's daughter became attached.  The Earl was not pleased with the match.  Chandler, Rose and Mary left Scotland for Massachusetts.  Many other Chandler brothers immigrated as well.  They began the Chandler Shoe Company in Lynn, MA.

Share what ever generational episodes. All that and more is our karma, recorded in our genes.
