Church bells from the corner send out vibrations of contentment and peace. Moondoggie's wee snout rumbles along with the old hymns.
Mary Dan, our great grandmother, remains elusive in my genealogical searches. Our mother remembered that Mary Dan was a lady-in-waiting. What a quaint idea. However, she also had been told that Mary Dan was an Ashkenazy Jew. Dan means judge. The Chandler family story is that this branch of the tree can be traced back to the 12 Tribes. Dan being one of the sons. The Dan tribe didn't have the best reputation amongst the fellow brothers. Their land was a sliver along the coast. Seafarers, they went off to Italy or Spain and then on to a safer life to England/Scotland.
